So often , and frankly importantly , showing the battle of living right above the poverty line and the intensity of living thru incarceration is depicted in a very honest and brutal way in film. I’ve often craved that from films in the past. But I’ve notice something shifting in me since the past year and half. Needing a little more softness and joy to emerge as I look toward storytelling to help me find catharsis from the immensity of this past year. This film does that for me on such a deep level that I’m in awe that is was made three years ago and yet it’s exactly the type of medicine my heart is craving right now. More stories of redemption! Less tourture porn please. My heart still needs some time to recover , maybe , yours does as well?
