豊田章男さんのインスタグラム写真 - (豊田章男Instagram)「. この週末、TOYOTA GAZOO Racingの2つの世界戦が終わりました。WEC最終戦でドライバーズ、マニュファクチャラー両タイトルが決まり、WEC・WRCで5つのタイトルを獲得できました。ファンの皆さま、本当にありがとうございました！日本では12年ぶりのラリージャパンでした。トヨタにとって初の日本でのWRCです。母国の道で地元ドライバーが走るラリーに心の底から感動しています。 WRCは世界のファンが見ています。色づく木々に感じる秋の空気、日本らしい街並み、小さいクルマを育んだ独特の狭い道など、我々が誇りに思う“ジャパンオリジナル”を世界の多くの人に見ていただけたと思います。逆にチームメンバーからは「白いガードレールがユニークだ。あれが日本らしい景色だよ」と言われ、我々が気づいていない“ジャパンオリジナル”がまだまだあることにも気付かされました。日本の良さを改めて知り、知ってもらえるラリージャパンは、これからもずっと続いていってほしいと思います。最後に貴元、地元での表彰台おめでとう！ありがとう！貴元が表彰台に立ち、多くの人に祝福されている姿に感動しました。ですが、一緒に表彰台に立つという私の夢はまだ叶っていません。そんなモリゾウの夢を叶えるためにも、また明日から頑張ってほしいと思います。 Over the weekend, two of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s world championship seasons came to a close. In the WEC, we clinched both the drivers' and manufacturers' titles in the final round, giving us five titles in total between the WEC and WRC. A huge thank you to all the fans! Rally Japan made its return after 12 years, marking Toyota’s first WRC event on our native soil. It was deeply moving to see the local drivers race on the roads of their home country. Fans around the world watch the WRC. Many people had a chance to see the things we are proud of as uniquely Japanese, from the changing autumn leaves, the uniquely Japanese cityscape, to the distinctive narrow streets that helped create compact cars. At the same time, when a team member pointed out that the white guardrails are a unique part of Japanese scenery, I realized there are still many things that we are not even aware of as “Japanese originals.” I hope Rally Japan will continue for many years to come, showcasing Japan to the world and helping us see our country in a new light.
