We recognize the impact of art museums on the environment, but must remain adaptable and accountable as we develop solutions and understand our place in creating a greener path forward. 🌱 We're excited to announce the appointment of Whitney McGuire (@whitneyrmcguire) as Associate Director of Sustainability! 🌱 In 2022, we completed a comprehensive carbon study on the exhibition "Cecilia Vicuña: Spin Spin Triangulene," in consultation with the artist and with the assistance of the non-profit environmental initiative Art into Acres. 🌱 On April 21, 2023, we will host The Gallery Climate Coalition (@galleryclimatecoalition), an international community of arts organizations working to reduce the sector’s environmental impacts, as the founding member of its New York chapter. 🌱 On Earth Day, we will host The World Around's first Young Climate Prize. The winners will travel to the museum to present their projects at The World Around (@theworldaround) Summit 2023.
