Amadou and Mariam met in the 70s at Mali’s Institute for the Young Blind, where they both played in the school's orchestra. The two married in 1980, and have spent their lives together creating music together, with Mariam on vocals and Amadou on guitar, they weave together West African rhythm with rock and blues. Their latest album, ‘Eclipse’ mixes together songs and narratives interludes, telling a story behind each track. On the album, Mariam says, “ The name Eclipse comes from our high school days since the orchestra we formed was called that. So this album, already in the name itself, tells a story. Our former manager, Marc-Antoine, heard the story of this orchestra and between the three of us, we started to develop the idea of this concert.
