The Supreme Court continues its onslaught of undoing decades of important precedent aimed at bringing some modicum of real equality and so-called freedom to this country. It’s been a snowball effect since 2016’s election which put three biased judges—Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett—in Supreme Court seats so they could serve their God over this country, drastically shifting the balance of the court. All it took was ONE election to upend decades of progress in the United States. ONE. We should all be furious over this ruling on affirmative action, which will impact generations of Black and brown families in an educational system already rigged against them. I am constantly reminded that it didn’t have to be this way. It still doesn’t. Voting matters. Voting matters to save what’s left of our planet, a future for our children, our dignity and our rights to exist as we ARE. If we want this madness to end, it’s going to take all of us paying attention, staying informed, and showing up time and time again to the ballot box. Shame on this ruling by the Supreme Court.
