I'm usually very private about my personal life, but something in my gut tells me I should share this journey. About a day before heading to Vegas, I found out I was pregnant. I was very excited and nervous because I’ve always wanted to be a mom. Everything was great up until Sunday came around when I started feeling dizzy and having intense cramps, so I asked Eric if we could return to the hotel room where I could lay down and rest. Lying down and resting seemed like the best thing to do at the time. Little did I know, things were about to take a turn for the worse. Shortly after waking up from a nap, I found myself throwing up. The cramps intensified, but I brushed it off as typical pregnancy discomfort; until I woke up on the hotel room floor, having fainted and hit my face. I could not even sit up, but for some reason, I was still resistant about going to the hospital. Luckily and thankfully, Eric did not listen to me and called an ambulance. I was having an ectopic pregnancy/miscarriage with internal bleeding for hours. My blood pressure was so low that I almost fell into a coma. Once I got to the hospital, I discovered I needed emergency surgery to save my life — the baby was growing in one of my fallopian tubes instead of my uterus, and the tube ruptured. Today, I'm very thankful to be alive. Through sharing my story, I hope to bring solace and strength to all the women who have endured miscarriages or faced life-threatening situations in their journey to motherhood. You are not alone.
