If you spend time around the All England Club during the tournament, you notice that many people dress in what could be described as starter kits: men in button-down shirts and shorts or pants, women in summer dresses or skirts. But a starter kit, as the name suggests, is only a starting point. Some people wore blazers or suits. Others used sweaters as accessories, draping them over shoulders or tying them across their bodies or around their waists. Wimbledon requires athletes to wear white. Most spectators’ outfits included at least one white element, too — often, white tennis shoes. And it wouldn’t be a British event without more than a few smart-looking hats.
