Our Free Dance at PyeongChang 2018, set to an arrangement of “Paradise” by Coldplay was a culmination of years of sacrifice, hard work, growth, resilience, and joy. “Paradise” was the third and final chapter of a trilogy of personal storytelling that began with “Fix You” by Coldplay in 2016 and was followed by “Evolution” in 2017 (“Spiegel im Spiegel”, Arvo Pärt, “The Departure”, Max Richter, “Truman Sleeps”, Phillip Glass). The design of the music, choreography, and costuming across the trilogy were interwoven with our personal story. For us, PyeongChang was paradise—and to have a part of our Olympic journey on display in this iconic institution is truly humbling.
