When I saw Cabanding's work, I was reminded of the photographer JR who painted giant eyes on murals in favelas (slums) in Brazil. After JR painted the eyes, the world began to pay attention to the dilapidated favelas.
Cabanding's works are repurposed discarded waste materials into famous paintings and designs.
He also painted murals in ruined cities. To look at places that people have not looked at before, and to think about problems that need to be considered. It was a work that made me focus on that.

キャバンディングの作品を観た時、写真家のJRがブラジルのファヴェーラ(スラム街)の壁画に巨大な目を描いた事を思い出した。JRが目を描いた事によって、世間が荒れ果てたファヴェーラに注目し始めたのだ。
キャバンディングの作品は、捨てられた廃棄物が有名な絵やデザインに再利用される。また、彼は荒廃した街の壁画にも描いている。人が今まで目を向けていなかった場所に目を向けること、考えなければいけない問題を考えること。それにフォーカスさせられる様な作品だった。
