We’re careful when it comes to throwing around superlatives, but this three-bedroom lakeside retreat—first built in 1956— just might be the most swoon-worthy midcentury house we’ve ever published. Case in point: wood paneling, floor-to-ceiling glass, a primary bath shower sheathed in a mottled pink quartzite slab, sculptural furnishings, and unexpected alpaca textiles. “I had the flexibility to go with my gut and make mistakes,” the house’s owner and designer Celeste Robbins (@robbinsarchitecture) tells ELLE DECOR. “It wasn’t perfectly designed, but that organic evolution led to a home full of soul.”
