That future could be a reality with the creation of the hyperloop — a new transit system that uses next-generation batteries and magnetic levitation to transport a pod at hyper-speed through a vacuum-sealed tunnel. And not only will we be able to move faster, explains engineer Josh Giegel — who was one of the hyperloop’s first passengers — this new form of transportation may be great for the environment too. “We’re at an inflection point.
