DD, mix, Opie’s Outpost, Brooklyn, NY • “This mural is kind of a mix of daycare dogs and our staff dogs – I’ve worked at the shop for a couple years now. I went to Pratt, I’m an illustrator, and I wanted to represent them and all of the different varieties, and to demonstrate the kind of community we have. I’ve had DD for about three years now – she’s from Virginia, and I rescued her from an Albany foster system. I was 21, still in school, and places didn’t really want someone without a steady income. I finally found a rescue that approved me based on my love of dogs and history with dogs. She’s been my best friend ever since.”
