For 40 years, Tim Goldrainer has been the front man and lead singer of The Menus, a popular rock-and-roll cover band. The documentary filmmaker @billy_miossi saw Goldrainer perform at a local festival several years ago—a show in which “Goldie,” as he’s affectionately known, did the splits and had multiple costume changes. Starting in 2015, Goldrainer took on another kind of gig: giving concerts in local nursing homes. Despite the quieter, smaller audiences, Goldrainer performs with the same exuberance as he always has. The way he plays music for others is ruled by a piece of advice his father once gave him: “Ten or 10,000 people, give them the same show. Give them the best show you possibly can.” At the link in our bio, watch Miossi’s short documentary in full.
