@BarbraStreisand thinks of herself first and foremost as a director—“I see everything as a movie,” she tells VF’s @radhikajones.

Still, Streisand weighs her good and bad reviews equally, admitting she’s “not completely sure that what I do is so great.” She never listens to her albums or watches her movies because “I always see something to change.” When asked if she thinks she is too hard on herself, or if that’s actually what propels her forward, she says, “I wouldn’t say too hard on myself.” And then: “I am very hard on myself.”
