@barbrastreisand says various writers attempted to write a sequel to ‘The Way We Were’ but “none of them were good.” So she did it herself.

“Sydney and I were trying to make the sequel for 20 years at least. Redford never wanted to make the sequel,” she tells VF’s @radhikajones. ‘The Way We Were’ writers Arthur Laurents and David Rayfiel took a stab at it, but she wasn’t a fan of their interpretation.Now, she fears, it’s too late. Another film might mean Robert Redford would need to be de-aged—a thought Streisand isn’t completely averse to. “It’s actually a good idea,” she says, adding that she’s going to call Redford and see what he thinks.
