Nanny Dog Meets New Kittens

Phoebe finally got to meet Pumpkin & Patch face to face! The younger the kittens, usually the easier it is for them to accept new friends. I have been letting the Ps see the Bs (BB, PB & GB) through the gates for a few weeks. I wanted their acclimation to be as gradual and slow as possible, so the three-week quarantine actually benefited them.

Phoebe had been dying to love on them. It was really hard for her to stay still, but it was important she did so not to scare little Ps. Pumpkin avoided PB at first. Patch was surprisingly more confident. It was cute to see two black-and-white wanting to play. When a kitten rejects PB, she tends to become obsessed with that kitten. It happened with KitKat, Truffles and Baby. She won’t give up until the kitten accepts her. Once she gets her “chin-hug”, it’s as if she is saying “You are mine!”. BB will be BB. We are starting this cycle all over again. Outside the gate, she seems to be more interested in the kittens than usual. GB will meet them next. Stay tuned as their relationship continues to develop.
