辺見庸による小説 “ 月 ” を、石井裕也監督によって実写化した衝撃的な映画作品。2016年の 〈 やまゆり園事件 〉をベースにしながら、幾つかの物語が絡み合う群像劇なのですが、鑑賞後に心の整理が全くつかず、真っ暗闇に放り出される作品です。善／悪といった二元論や、当時報道されていたような表面的な情報だけでは決して推し量ることのできない、なんとも言えない恐怖に襲われます。
日常生活の中では気がつかない、いや、見ようとせず目をそらしている闇は確実に存在し、綺麗事では済まされない現実がこの映画には詰まっています。
本当に本当にヘビーな作品ですが、これから先もずっと考え続ける事になる問いを投げかけられたと感じざるを得ませんでした。
「 オススメです。」と気軽に言えるような作品ではありませんが、観るべき作品であると断言できます。

This is a shocking film directed by Yuya Ishii based on the novel “Tsuki” by Yo Henmi, and is an ensemble drama with several intertwining stories based on the “Yamayuri En Incident in 2016. It is a work that throws you into total darkness. You are struck by an indescribable fear that cannot be surmised from the dualism of good and evil, or from superficial information as reported in the media at the time.
There is definitely a darkness that we don’t notice in our daily lives, or that we don’t try to see and look away from, and this film is filled with a reality that cannot be neatly dismissed.
It is a really, really heavy film, but I couldn’t help but feel that I was asked a question that I will continue to think about for a long time to come.
It is not a work that I can casually say I recommend, but I can assure you that it is a work that you should see.
