An issue we face today is that we are encouraged, expected and as a result are becoming so dependent on outsourcing our problems that we're incapable of dealing with them when they happen. If people want to, or need to go to counselling I definitely think they should, as there is no shame at all in doing so. However, people who are willing, prepared and capable of dealing with, handling or fighting their battles shouldn't be looked down on or scrutinised for it and pressured to do otherwise. Being competent, strong, resilient and capable of knowing and trusting in your own heart should be something that we all strive for. Talk yes, talk to your friends, your family, your partner or a random person on the street. Talk to whoever you want. Be open, be honest, don't hide your sadness, your tears or your vulnerabilities. But understand that no matter how much you talk, what you talk about or who you talk to, afterwards the only person that is going to be able to deal with that pain, trauma, grief, heartbreak.. And build that strength, resilience, self worth and heart back up, is YOU!
