In 2007 the U.S. Air Force transferred this A-12 OXCART to #CIA Headquarters for display.

It arrived aboard five wide-load trucks. A crew of five assembled the airframe in 10 days, and its official presentation took place on 19 September 2007, as part of CIA’s 60th anniversary celebration.

CIA developed the highly secret A-12 in the 1960s. The displayed aircraft's first flight was on 3 October 1963. During its lifetime, it logged 453 hours on 232 test and training flights. The airframe was retired on 28 May 1968.
