米太平洋海兵隊副司令官シップリー准将は１１月９日（木）に来省し、小林陸幕副長と懇談を行いました。懇談においては、陸自と米海兵隊の関係がかつてないほど強固であり、更なる連携強化を図っていくことで両者の認識を共有しました。
　また、両者の間で、インド太平洋地域の平和と安定に寄与するため、日米が連携して多国間による防衛協力を推進していくことでも一致しました。

BGen Shipley, Deputy Commander, MARFORPAC made a visit to Camp Ichigaya to meet LTG KOBAYASHI, VCOS, GSO, JGSDF on Nov 9 2023 . During the meeting, they shared their recognition that the relationship between JGSDF and USMC is iron-clad and that they will work to further strengthen cooperation.
They also agreed that JPN-US alliance will further promote multinational defense cooperation for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
