Our annual Escapes Issue is here! This season, we’re reveling in our abiding love for joy and fantasy, whether an indulgent hotel in a far-flung winter destination; a rustic, 12th-century retreat tucked into the Italian countryside; or a Technicolor-bright home in Colorado’s ski country. For our first of two cover stories, we visit a family vacation home fit for a fete, located (where else?) on the Spanish isle of Ibiza. The homeowners tapped Mafalda Muñoz and Gonzalo Machado, the duo behind the Madrid-based interior design studio Casa Muñoz (@casa_.munoz), to imbue this pied-à-terre with nods to both its seaside setting and its storied history as a 1970s hub for fashion and design, plus—of course—plenty of room for family and friends. “It really is a party house,” Muñoz says. “[The homeowners tell me] they feel they lead different lives there, more fun lives.” Cheers to that.
