Nearly 300 Harvard students have signed up for a new English class, “Taylor Swift and Her World.” In the spring semester, Professor Stephanie Burt will explore Swift's catalog and pair it with bodies of work from other people, from poet William Wordsworth to contemporary authors like Zan Romanoff.

“If you’re going to teach people to love something that they see as obscure or distant or difficult or unfamiliar, your best shot at doing that honestly and effectively is to connect it to something that people already like,” Burt said in an interview with The New York Times.
