Yang Jong Yong (b. 1984) received his MA in Fine Arts from Kangwon National University in 2012. Yang had numerous exhibitions including the solo exhibition “Moss's Existence Towards a Persistent Life” at Studio Kki Paju(2022), along with participation in over ten domestic and international art fairs and more than fifty group exhibitions. Yang represents the concept of a “harmonious spontaneity” through the moss. To Yang, harmonious spontaneity stems from The Doctrine of the Mean(中庸, the Mean), achieved through a process of self-reflection and acceptance. He infuses deep meaning into everyday objects - toilets, as tools of excretion, and vessels, as containers - by incorporating moss into them. Toilets and vessels, though existing at opposing ends of the spectrum, are not conceptualized in terms of conflict or collision, but rather as elements in a cyclical relationship. Through moss, the artist mediates The Mean between self-reflection (mental excretion) and acceptance (tolerance), aspiring to a harmonious life within everyday relationships.」12月8日 10時56分
