Wait. What's that whistling sound? I pulled myself from my dreams and listened closely. It was me. My lungs were singing the strange swooping tune of a chorus of slide whistles. I turned on the light and I coughed and coughed. I'm sure versions of this story are being told all around the world right now. It's scary and beautiful how the human experience has coalesced. Now, more than ever, we're in this together. I'm fine. The whistles are fewer and farther between, more backyard bird than coyote. My energy's stirring again. I washed my hair and took this frizzy photo. Maybe it was just a cold. Or bronchitis. Or springtime allergies gone mad. Most of us will never know. So we keep our distance. And our fingers ache from texting. We check in more frequently. We hold each other more tightly in our thoughts. And we ride it out. Together, but apart. xo.」3月30日 10時22分
