1994: I was struggling to find work (demos, sponsors, etc) and I got called to consult on a Coca-Cola commercial made for Japan. They had already built a halfpipe with no flat that tapered in on one side to resemble a cross-section of a Coke bottle without consulting any skaters beforehand.. It was nearly impossible to find stunt-doubles for the Japanese actors because the ramp was so tight. But @christianhosoi & @omarhassan were perfect because they could rip any transition size. I was chosen as the third stunt double because they were already paying me as a consultant and one of the actors was taller than the rest. The coolest part (besides getting paid to skate while in financial straits) was working with director @jjabramsofficial for three days. Fun fact: the last scene was my first experience with stunt padding. We dropped about 15 feet into the thick cushions with a giant green screen behind us.
Thanks to @鈴木一真 for reminding me of this wild shoot.
