Nakayama no Ofuji - A Tunnel Woven by an Over 300-Year-Old Wisteria Tree!😍✨
Nakayama no Ofuji, located at Nakayama Kumano Shrine in Yanagawa City, is a famous wisteria tree that is over 300 years old.
The tree was grown from the seeds that a man, who ran a liquor store in the area, brought back from Osaka and planted, and it is designated as a prefectural natural monument.😊
Currently, there is a 1,160-square-meter wisteria trellis on the shrine's grounds, where wisteria flowers exceeding 1 meter in length bloom.
The wisteria tunnel above the shrine's stone bridge is spectacular!😲✨
Various events such as food stalls, jazz performances, and photo contests take place during the Nakayama Great Wisteria Festival, held every year from mid- to late April when the flowers are in full bloom, attracting many people.
