That being said, it was important for me to face it head on in the fighting spirit that she always so gracefully and courageously showed. I took her flowers, said my prayers, spoke my truths of how I’m feeling without her and also asked family of the neighbouring resting places if they would mind if I spent a few hours on my kayak erg in the gardens next to her to relieve some emotions, free my mind and show her that daddy is still fighting - in which they were more than happy to give me their blessing. We also had the privilege of returning to @bham_childrens receiving recognition for the 2nd consecutive year as one of their 100 heroes, accepting an award on behalf of @theazayliafoundation and in honour of our beautiful daughter herself. It was hard to be in such an environment on this day but truly humbling to stand alongside such remarkable individuals who dedicate their time to having a positive and life saving impact on children’s lives. Thank you for all of your beautiful messages of love, strength, support and remembrance of my little princess yesterday. & thank you to every single one of you who have donated, fundraised and supported.
