In this film the artist shows us around her studio in Birmingham and talks about the themes she explores in her work, including temporality, power and body politics. We see Walker drawing directly onto the walls of @TownerGallery as part of her series ‘Burden of Proof’. This sequence of portraits capture individuals affected by the Windrush Scandal. ‘To think that these citizens contributed, were invited to Britain to help support the country after the Second World War, and then to be categorised as illegal immigrants.
