It's so cute watching Alf care for his baby like we do with Ada as he does his 'bedtime routine' with it. It's so cute because since Ada has come into his world I've noticed him becoming so much more caring and nurturing. This doll, that he's obviously named Harry Styles🤣, cries LED tears that light up if you take it's dummy away, and it's so cute watching him care for it. He loves taking the unicorn onesie on and off and giving it cuddles, and taking it into his bed. 🥲🫶❤️ It also plays lullabies and lights up as a nightlight so it's the perfect bedtime companion for your littles. It got me thinking how sad it is that previous generations didn't let boys play with dolls. I'll never force anything upon Alf - be it masculine or feminine. But I'll always encourage him to explore the things that he loves. And I love how much he loves his doll, and how much it encourages and nurtures his caring nature. Because also, why are dolls considered girly? Don't dads also push babies in prams, feed them, care for them, and put them to bed? And there's so much research that shows that traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful and that socializing boys to suppress their emotions causes damage both physically and emotionally. It feels like such a privilege to be raising a son and I hope he grows into a kind and caring man... This quote by Leila Schott sums it up perfectly: "Perhaps if tearful little boys were comforted instead of shamed there wouldn't be so many angry men struggling to express and empathize with emotions." ❤️ So here's to raising children who are allowed to play with whatever toys they like. Who are encouraged to follow their hobbies.
