クリスティーズさんのインスタグラム写真 - (クリスティーズInstagram)「Explorations in Material & Form Across the 20th and 21st Centuries This season’s 20/21 sales offer an exceptional array of figurative works by female artists, each of whom take a particular interest in the relationship between material and form. From 1972, Barbara Hepworth’s ‘Static Forms’ elegantly employs marble to examine the intricate tension between a pair of smooth ovoid forms separated by a slender gap, the proximity of their shapes suggesting an almost emotional and physical intimacy, or a pairing the artist believed represented “the tender relationship of one living thing beside another.” In Jenna Gribbon’s ‘Regarding Me Regarding You and Me’, a personal portrayal of the artist’s wife in oil, she upends traditional depictions of the female nude throughout art history. Lee Bontecou’s ‘Untitled’ pushes the boundaries of sculpture through non-traditional material with her rhythmic, graceful and skillful treatment of transparent, vacuum-forced plastic. Further highlights include Berthe Morisot’s depiction of Jeanne Fourmanoir, one of the artist’s favorite model, and Tamara de Lempicka’s portrait of her friend and confident Ira Perrot. These works and many more are now open for viewing in our Rockefeller Center galleries, visit us today! 21st Century Evening Sale | New York | 7 November 20th Century Evening Sale | New York | 9 November Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale | New York | 10 November Impressionist & Modern Works on Paper Sale | New York | 11 November Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale | New York | 11 November ------- Barbara Hepworth (1903 -1975) ‘Static Forms’ (1972) Jenna Gribbon (B. 1978) ‘Regarding Me Regarding You and Me’ (2020) Lee Bontecou (1931-2022) ‘Untitled’ (1971) Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) ‘Jeanne Fourmanoir sur le lac’ (1892) Tamara de Lempicka (1898-1980) ‘Portrait d'une jeune femme en robe bleue’ (1922)」11月7日 6時54分 - christiesinc
