I had just got back from a trip to Greenland with the WWF and still hadn’t quite processed what I saw. I was filming my first ever climate rally in London and at the time, no one had any idea how big this movement would become. (At this point Greta Thunberg was 12 and still very much in school). Since then a lot has changed. Over the years i’ve tried to learn everything I can about climate change. I’ve read books, watched documentaries, made films, attempted to decipher academic papers and interviewed some of my hero’s like Sir David Attenborough. Here’s what I’ve learnt. * Climate change is overwhelming... like really really overwhelming. * Information on the topic is confusing, complicated and hard to access. * Climate change isn’t just an environmental issue but an issue of human rights and social justice. * Taking action requires systemic change not just individual change. * Climate change will exacerbate every social issue we care about. * We can’t stop climate change, but what we do now and every day going forward will have an impact on how bad it gets. * Learning about climate change can take a serious toll on your mental health. - Community helps. For a long time I’ve wanted to create a space to communicate the climate crisis with a fresh perspective. To beakdown the complicated concepts, to create a community and most importantly to spotlight those doing incredible work to solve the issue and sound the alarm. In other words @earthrise.studio is the type of space I wish I had access to when I was learning about climate change. We are right at the beginning of our journey but together I hope we can make this an incredible space that will lead to meaningful action and tangible change. I would love to know what would you like to see form a space like this? 🌍🌱🚀🔥」7月12日 16時12分 - jackharries

This week I launched @earthrise.studio. Here’s why.
