I started competing when I was 25 years old so late to the game compared to how young I see bikini athletes starting now. At the time, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was working 3 jobs, 7 days a week from dark to dark with a 3 hr commute daily during the week!😩 - I remember walking into a bodybuilding show to go support my friend and I saw the bikini division, it stopped me in my tracks & I knew that's what I wanted to do! Now when I say it's been a hell of a journey, that's just the tip of the iceberg lol! - Seeing this picture makes me emotional because I know how much I've grown since I was 25 years old! It has not been an easy or smooth path AT ALL. The journey is where I learned so much by making mistakes and getting back up probably a total of a million times over the last decade and trying again. I just don't have it in my heart to give up! - When I started competing is also when the instagram platform started . When I get asked how did I grow a following on social media I always say it's because hard work (competing) met an opportunity (IG). Fitness was new to social media and it isn't what it is now. I see so many women selling butt programs that have Brazilian butt lifts or people selling programs and supplements and not mentioning their drug use. Also all the unnecessary BS exercises or ways of dieting to "get there faster". SMH - A tip I can tell you from someone who has a respectable resume is that you don't need a fancy diet, workout routine or cardio. You need a routine you can stick to for months at a time and know your MACROS & hit them daily. Being consistent is KEY. - I always knew I was going to do what I've done in my career because I believed in myself even when no one did. It's still surreal to see all I've accomplished and I'm just getting started!
