I'd love your help and advice! 💔

This week, we were told that Alf has regressed by our childminder. We've noticed it too, especially the last few nights.

I was told it's really normal when a new sibling comes along, but it's so hard not to feel guilty. It breaks my heart thinking he needs to change anything about himself to get Mama's attention.

I realise there's only so much we can actually do because it's literally impossible to split ourselves in two, especially when the baby needs your boobs for comfort - however I'd love to know how anyone else navigated it.

Apparently regression happens because they see their new sibling getting so much love and attention, so they act more 'baby-like' to try and get the same attention.

For Alf this currently looks like:
🤍 4-5am wake ups and sleeping in daddy's bed.
🤍 Not wanting to go to bed anymore (he used to love bed and go down so easily and happily) and having big meltdowns and then wanting to sleep in daddy's bed.
🤍 Wanting us to feed him instead of feeding himself.
🤍 Drinking more milk.
🤍 Throwing things on the floor - be it food, reed diffusers

Obviously we want our little dude to feel loved and supported and feel like we're trying to do just that. But I'd love to know if anyone found anything particularly useful?

For Alf's sake - and also for ours. Two very tired parents.

In still on cloud 9, and was obviously aware there will be challenges along the way, but I think I envisioned the challenges being on us, not on Alf. And that's what hard. He didn't get a say in this change (but hopefully he'll thank us for her in the future 🤪).

Anyway - swipe to see the mum of two juggle this morning. 🤹‍♀️
