Following the benefit inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, guests of the gala flocked to numerous late-night events around the city at venues including the Mark Hotel, the Box and the Top of the Standard. Many after-party attendees didn’t even attend the gala, and many who did attend changed into new outfits. At the Top of the Standard, the “Mad Men”-meets-Rainbow Room top-floor space, professional dancers gyrated on platforms in white spray-painted bodysuits that brought to mind Keith Haring’s collaboration with Grace Jones. The host was Janelle Monáe, who performed alongside Kaytranada for the crowd, which included celebrities like Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Florence Pugh, Quinta Brunson and Stephanie Hsu. Downtown at the Box, a burlesque club, Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, held a party of his own. There, Paris Hilton swayed from side to side, eyes hidden behind white sunglasses, with Marc Jacobs at her side. Teyana Taylor performed and Usher sipped a drink in front of the D.J. booth.
