Some of our readers might be fortunate enough to remember a viral story from 2017, about a girl who took a massive, un-flushable shit on a date and chucked it out the window. In a harrowing turn of events, the poop became lodged between two panes of glass and the girl got stuck trying to retrieve the detritus. In the end, her date called the fire brigade. These are the lengths we'll go to hide our shit from friends, partners, lovers. All of this, in spite of the fact everyone and their Mother shits regularly.⁠

It's like everyone in the world signed an NDA and agreed peeing is mostly fine, but if you're going for a poo, then no one should know. We've even trialled and tested methods to hide our dumps – from continuously flushing the toilet to drown out any sound (Flush Hush), or the Poop Pillow, AKA using toilet paper to hush the sound. ⁠

When it comes to acknowledging the stuff we all (hopefully) do on a regular basis, people are usually reluctant to talk about their own poo. We've all been there – in the bar bathroom – waiting for the person to leave. In an effort to change the great poo taboo, we spoke to some people about their feelings surrounding their toilet activity.
