I’ve learnt to largely ignore it and not go in search of it - I avoid comment sections of large online newspapers and especially those on anonymous gossip forums.   However, I underestimated that these forums were becoming more than just harmless gossip sites; they are places where people could encourage others to harass celebrities. Spaces that have evolved from discussing people’s appearances, parenting skills, and behaviours into a place where people brag about reporting celebrities and influencers to the RSPCA, HMRC, the police, and in my case: Social Services.   Since I received that letter, I've had to provide information to Alfie’s childcare providers, had to disclose information about my birth plans and healthcare worker (I am pregnant with my second child), and my case closed only after I hired a detective who collated evidence that these claims were malicious. We know who and where they are - but it's not against the law. To be clear, I respect the work social workers do and respect the need to protect the confidentiality of those who report real concerns. But what sickens me is, that these people who are making false allegations against me because they don’t like what I post on the internet, are taking away vital resources from children who face neglect and abuse. I think of the little faces of Star Hobson and Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, the countless other children we see on the news. How could anyone want to waste social services time?
