I spoke on a panel of brilliant ladies about 'How To Create A Happy Childhood For Your Child Without Losing Yourself’. It was honestly so interesting hearing everyone's very unique experiences and different perspectives on all of this. Ada was feeding when we began as she'd just done the biggest poo explosion moments before going on - HOW I don't have 💩on my white outfit is beyond me. It was on my fingers. 🤣 anyway, she ended up being there with me so we went with it. And that's probably one of my big things on the theme you know - do what works for you. For me, what works for me right now is taking Ada with me to things. It means I can do tv and DJ gigs and see friends etc. Ultimately she needs my body to survive right now, and I don't want to give up that journey and she's happy. So why shouldn't she be with me? I also touched on the concept of 'mum guilt'. Have you noticed you don't hear talk of 'dad guilt'. I bet a ton of dads feel guilty about things, but it's not a *thing* that needs bringing up. My rule is, if a dad doesn't need to feel guilty about something: nor should a mum. Need or want to go back to work? Don't feel guilty about having childcare. Men don't get asked about their childcare situation - it's probably assumed it's the mums if in heterosexual relationships. But times have moved on and woman have careers too. Often we feel guilty because we can't win. Be a present mum - but don't be a stay at home mum. Go back to work - but don't have children if you don't want to raise them yourself. So yeah, mum guilt can get in the bin as far as I'm concerned. I don't feel guilty. I'm a good mum doing my best and when I make mistakes (which I will) I'll fess up, apologise, and teach my children it's normal and human to get sh*t wrong. And finally we can't pour from an empty cup. And on that note: this week has been a lot and I'm absolutely shattered. It's been amazing, but I'm tired. We got the dreaded call this afternoon that Alf had to be picked up early (💩) so I'm going to slow down next few days so I don't burn out. 💤❤️」5月25日 4時39分
