Living a Colorful Life.
One of the pleasures of writing my memoir was to go through the hundreds of photos that documented my adventures. This photo was taken in Shanghai in 2017 when I was invited to speak at Shanghai Fashion Weekend. Through a series of serendipitous meetings in NYC and LA, while in China, I found myself in the company of a cohort of young fashion designers who had all graduated from Central Saint Martins, a student from USC and a young photographer who lived in Shanghai.

Until this trip my color palette was predominately black and white. That is until I visited the studio of Angel Chen where I was encouraged to experiment just as the designer had with the textiles and forms she created for her new collection. I twirled in a glittering long red coat, wore silver boots and embraced color as I never had before.

I write about the trip in my memoir and show how if we are open to serendipity we can weave webs of networks that create new patterns in our lives and instigate opportunities to grow. Thanks to @monsieur_brownie and @angelchenstudio for such a magical moment.
