As humans, we long to have purpose, for our lives to have meaning, I know so many of us out there have been feeling lost as we wake up to the ways in which we have been socialised to believe that fulfilment lies in accomplishment and accumulation and how orienting by those things are starting to make less sense as things continue to fall apart. All I truly yearn for now is to be in alignment with my soul and the earth. All I want now is a path of contribution, to be of service to something bigger than me, in these precarious times we are living in. I want to somehow support the process of change and transformation that is being called of us. I’m still working out the hows but I know the whys and what I want to my life to embody. I’m holding onto this vision and letting it be my North Star. Now, I pray for the courage to accept reality so I can keep going. Courage is the virtue Maya Angelou always says most important virtue of all “because without courage, you cannot practice any other virtue consistently”. I pray for the agility, flexibility and the tenacity to move and dance with the turns, fluctuations and the many calamities that will no doubt continue to exacerbate for the rest of our lives as the emergence of these intersecting apocalypses continue to unravel. As mere mortals death is our reality but while we’re here we can move through the world with love, to relish in the small delights of the day while we hold a vision for a better and more just world in our hearts while making our contributions however big or small, no matter the outcome.
