At Ralph Lauren’s women’s spring 2024 show at the Brooklyn Navy Yard last week, celebrities gathered for a runway show and lavish dinner that demonstrated the brand’s success at world building.
The @Ralph Lauren formula is made up of both familiarity and desire, writes the fashion reporter @jtes. The show had familiarity: faux-worn wooden framework and intentionally mismatched white chairs, a style known to anyone who has seen even five minutes of HGTV programming. And it had desire: The svelte bodies atop those chairs belonged to Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Diane Keaton and Amanda Seyfried, seated shoulder to shoulder like the world’s most enviable group of girlfriends.
