On this specific day, I am sharing with you a couple of photos from my special chapter of my book : ´Paris City of Love’.
When I wrote the 2nd edition of the City Guide, it was important to me to include a photographic section on Black Love in Paris. Photography evokes emotions, connections, and memories unlike any other art form. Ultimately, it has the power to leave an imprint on our soul. When one thinks of romance in Paris, images of our love must come to mind because we have fallen in love in Paris for centuries.
As the academic and political scientist, and feminist, Françoise Verges, so eloquently summed up in her preface of my chapter on Black Love, our love stories are essential to our story in Paris. Our love stories surpass our stories of struggle because without our love, those stories would not be possible.
