In this conversation, Dylan and Vieslav discuss what it means to be with ourselves and others through intense emotions and experiences.

Both concluded with a practical piece of insight for navigating times of grief and intensity.

Dylan:
Prioritize the process of feeling the feelings.
Whatever intense emotions are arising are asking to be seen, heard, felt and held. With the recognition that putting off the process adds to our suffering, we can start to see what it truly means to tend to ourselves and just how relevant it is to our lives.
The same goes for holding space for others. Prioritize the feeling of the feelings over fixing them.

Vieslav:
Create a regular practice with stillness to create familiarity with being with whatever is arising.
Within that stillness, allow for emotions to arise by way of moving the focus from the mind to the heart and allowing it to open. Soften into the intensity and bear witness to it without trying to “fix” it in anyway.
When we can open ourselves to our own heart’s spaciousness then we can do the same for others by being with what is arising for them.
