Just because these men paid for this experience or are billionaires should not take away our ability to have compassion or empathy. I so hope they are found and that they are safe. For years we have seen the right wing tabloids dehumanise human beings so desperate for a better way of life that they get on an unsafe and overcrowded boat. So desperate that they put their children on these boats. No one would willingly put their children in danger so I can only imagine the desperation that this is a better option than what they have left behind. And I see people in the comments and on social media saying they deserve it for making illegal crossings. We are so desensitized to human beings people are bold enough to say this. I wish there was more compassion and humanity owed to refugees doing what any of us would do for ourselves and our families if we just happened to be born somewhere else. I can't believe how lucky we are that we just happened to be born in a safe country. But through choice or desperation, rich or poor - no one deserves to be lost at sea. I so hope for a happy ending for those onboard, just as I hope for safe and legal routes for those fleeing war, persecution and horrific living conditions. And a more empathetic media. At the end of the day, we are all humans. Don't let anyone stop you from showing compassion to others - whether they are billionaires or refugees. I'll be honest, the missing submarine is keeping me up at night. I cannot imagine the fear and conditions that these people are experiencing right now. Being locked in a tin can from the outside is truly the stuff of nightmares.

I can't believe the lack of compassion and jokes I've seen going about on social media. Just because these men paid for this experience or are billionaires should not take away our ability to have compassion or empathy. I so hope they are found and that they are safe.
