Travelling the world, eating in nice restaurants, being spontaneous, DJing, hanging with my friends, drinking nice wine. But life had different plans. The world as I knew it changed overnight with lockdown and I emerged from lockdown into a completely new and unplanned world. I mourned that old life. All whilst i loved hard and was the best mum. But I saw most of my friends' world's go back to normal, and mine had irreversibly changed. And in the process, and the blur of sleep deprivation I lost friends who didn't understand. I lost myself too. Mourning my old life, yet being the best mum. Anyway, here I am two years later, and I really do feel like this is my happiest chapter of life yet. There are still things I mourn: the spontaneity, being able to go to work without having to plan so many logistics around it, being able to wake up on a Sunday and book a flight the next day just because. But I know those days will come again. The days where I'll be at Glastonbury, but I'll be there with my gang. Extra joy. The psychological process of becoming a mum almost broke me: from a traumatic birth, to undoing a future as I saw it, to sleep deprivation, but I've emerged the greatest version of myself. Still ambitious - maybe more so, because now I do it to make an amazing life for them. Still adventurous. But in a chapter of slow living and getting to know two perfect souls. Getting to do life as a gang of 4 - creating a family. The one I always dreamed of. Tommy and I promised when we met that we'd enjoy life and have as many adventures as possible for as long as we liked each other - and it's fair to say these 3 years have been the craziest adventure yet. I guess that's the beauty of life, you never know what's around the corner. 🤸‍♀️🤍✨ But ending the weekend feeling very content and grateful after a weekend of family time and fun in the sunshine 🔆 Mid thirties : the best chapter yet.
