Also should definitely have got some footage of me DJing but we move 🤪 I'm usually in bed by 9pm these days, so I have to document the times I venture out and get all glam because I do NOT look like this most of the time! I've started to enjoy letting @michaelgrayhair and @goddessbeautymakeup do what they think so am switching up the looks a bit more. I always feel insecure on the day - I've talked about this before but I always think I look horrible at the time. But then I can look back and appreciate I look nice. It's so weird, does anyone else feel like that? It's like a face dismorphia or something. I have zero body issues but am working on the face acceptance! I don't know if it's from being in the industry too or just low self esteem I had all my life. I'd love to know how anyone overcame it? Anyway, I hope that doesn't come across like I'm fishing for compliments because honestly, I've realised external validation isn't a healer. We've got to learn internal validation - I guess that's a lifelong working progress. And I think it's hard getting older, especially as a woman. I'm trying to reframe my thoughts every day. Reminding myself what a privilege it is. Reminding myself that it's just dumb patriarchal bullsh*t based on a woman's value being linked to her fertility and youth. And that on my death bed I'll not care a dot about the way I looked, but I will about my memories, experiences and the people I loved and who loved me. Loved last night's look.
