Let us introduce you to The Ladies' Field Club of York. 💡 💫 📷 The Ladies' Field Club of York is an imaginary group of amateur natural scientists from the 19th century who, in pursuit of their studies, made field trips in a specially designated railway carriage. Part installation, part photographic fiction, the series was created by the artists Mark Dion and J. Morgan, with photography by Claire Sancroft. The eight portraits (made up of seven members of the field club and their trusted porter) have been made using the exact styling conventions and techniques of late Victorian studio portraiture, with the models being contemporary art curators currently working in Britain. 💐 Miss Amelia West, Botany, 1999 🦋 Mrs. E.
