One of the first people I showed it to was @edward_enninful from i-D Magazine. He was in NYC for a few days and I’d scored a 20 minute coffee meeting. . At that time - i-D was THE magazine (in my opinion). . It launched the careers of models. Stylists. Photographers. . The meeting went well. I don’t think I let on how nervous I was. Edward was lovely. And he seemed to like my pictures. But to be honest it was over so quickly I had no idea what to think. . He went back to London and I thought that was that. . A week later he called me. . (For some reason I clearly remember the green Nokia cel phone I spoke to him on ) . “I can’t stop thinking about your pictures of those kids.” He told me. “I’d like to run them as an editorial in the magazine.” . 😶 . I blubbered something (probably incomprehensible) and said OF COURSE. I’d love to have him run the pictures. . So after years and years my first full (non Greek, non-Sassy) editorial was in i-D. It was basically just my portfolio running as a 10 page editorial. . The day that magazine came out everything changed. . More tomorrow... .
