16 OF 31 - There were soooo many great years that followed. I travelled the world with great friends making pictures and telling stories.

We went to China for W magazine to shoot an epic editorial about a young American serviceman who falls in love with a local girl at the Chines opera.
.
I came (home) to Maine for my first American Vogue shoot.
.
Japan. Greece. Russia. Italy. Brazil. France. Belize. Venezuela. Germany. Iceland. Ireland. Sweden.
.
So many amazing trips.
.
Some were for editorial stories. Some were for advertising jobs.
.
As the years went on the shoots got bigger. More clients. More advertising agency creatives. More production. More riding on the images we made.
.
It was like a snowball.
.
The further it went the larger it grew.
.
The larger it grew the more people there were to please.
.
It became less about storytelling.
.
More about selling.
.
I’m not saying this is a bad thing. Only that it’s a slightly different thing.
.
(There’s something sooo exciting knowing that an image I took drove sales through the roof.)
.
It didn’t really bother me.
.
At first.
.
But after years of making clients happy and taking pictures to sell everything from hair dye to cashmere - I was aching to return to storytelling.
.
I’d been swept up into the whirlwind rollercoaster of fashion.
.
But lost something along the way...
.
More tomorrow.
