Nastassja: The feeling‘s definitely mutual :) But to answer your question, my mom was my art teacher before I ever stepped foot in a classroom or studio. Anyone close to me knows about or has seen my mom's portfolio of high school and college drawings. As a little girl, flipping through pieces of charcoal on paper of people and houses, I was experiencing my first museum without knowing it exactly. Sharing that moment with her, or drawing portraits of her in the kitchen while she cooked, has everything to do with why I’m an artist today.
