豊田章男さんのインスタグラム写真 - (豊田章男Instagram)「. 株主総会で議長を務めました。 2010年から議長に就き、今年で14回目。今回が最後の議長でした。最初の頃、株主総会は「一年のうちで一番苦手な日」だったかもしれません。しかし、株主の皆さまとのやりとりを通じて、私たちトヨタが大切にしてきた価値観や、目指すべき方向など、改めて、多くのことに気づくことができました。今では「株主総会は1年に一度、自分たちの姿を鏡に映し出す大切な機会だ」と思っています。私の決断は、時代の潮流にも、トヨタの保守本流にも、逆行することが多かったと思います。それでも、前に進めたのは、中長期的な視点でトヨタを応援し、私を支えて下さった株主の皆さまのおかげです。「トヨタがんばれ」「モリゾウがんばれ」議決権行使書に書かれた温かいメッセージや、総会で見せてくださる皆さまの表情や大きな拍手に背中を押していただきました。本当にありがとうございました。すでに次世代の「未来を変える闘い」は始まっております。どうかその挑戦を長い目で見ていただき、私以上のご支援をよろしくお願いします。 This year, I chaired my 14th general shareholders’ meeting. Having served in the role since 2010, this time was my last as chairman. In the beginning, the general meeting was perhaps the day I looked forward to least all year. And yet, engaging with our shareholders gave me a fresh perspective on many aspects of Toyota, including our cherished values and future direction. These days, I view the annual meeting as an important opportunity to look at ourselves in the mirror. In many of my decisions, I feel like I was swimming against the tide of both the times and Toyota’s conservative mainstream. Despite that, I was able to keep moving forward thanks to the support of our shareholders, who were ready to stand by Toyota for the long haul. The warm messages written on voting forms—“Go Toyota!” “Go Morizo!”— along with your kind faces and generous applause on the day only encouraged me further. Thank you very much. The fight to shape the future of the next generation is already underway.
